As a general practice clinic, we are always involved in the long-term health of our patients. At 6 months of age, we offer to spay (female) or neuter (male) your pet. Spaying/neutering has many benefits, with the primary benefit being the animal's reproductive health. Spaying your pet before her first cycle almost completely eliminates her risk of mammary cancer and other reproductive health complications. Neutering your pet before he is a year old reduces his likelihood of forming marking habits, aggression, and prostate cancer.
As your pet gets older, we check their oral health at their annual check-ups and will begin to recommend yearly dental cleanings. These cleanings remove tartar and buildup that could negatively effect your pet's oral health and overall comfort.
